Settled in the heart of Boulder Colorado, is a University that focuses all of its studies off of a rooted system of meditation. The University provides various liberal arts programs that allow each student to find their own deeper meaning within themselves. As organized and structured as the curriculum may be, the campus itself is fragmented into multiple unorganized boxes consisting of holes within walls that become mistaken for windows and doors. Asphalt and concrete bleed into the surface of the landscape from the bordering streets, consuming the community that would otherwise be created by the physical nature of the site.

For this project our Studio was asked to remove and redesign nearly half of the site, along with all of the landscape, picking up scattered programs within lost buildings and to create one simplistic structure to hold them all. This building would not only embrace and quietly speak to several of the historic landmarks already existing on the site, but would also communicate that its placement within University is to help bring the campus together as a whole, and not to stand out above the crowd.
